Behind every shopper/consumer is a life. We could be forgiven for forgetting this, but every person going about their daily business is a unique human being rather than a pattern of trends. As such, every one of those people has lived through joy, loss, comedy, tragedy, generosity, mean spiritedness and every state in between.
Taking this as a starting point, artist Barrie West has created 40 apparently drab, everyday scenes, giving poet Harry Gallagher just a single quatrain for each to create a unique story or statement. The results are comic, tragic, thought provoking and inspiring.
